Suitable for all species of livestock, oats are a high-fiber, palatable grain for livestock, ideal for balanced diets to support overall nutrition.
Primary Feed:
Oats are a high fiber, low energy cereal grain. Historically common in equine and ruminant diets, they have recently gained in interest for DIY poultry rations. Oats are very palatable to livestock. Oats should be fed as part of a balanced ration, to ensure the animal is provided with adequate vitamins and minerals.
We offer high test weight recleaned northern oats. All grains have industry standard test weights per bushel created by the USDA. Oats standard test weight is 32 lbs per bushel. Our oats typically weigh in around 42 lbs per bushel. Meaning more oat and less chaff and hull per bag.
Oats are considered a Non-GMO grain. Whole oats are as they come from the field, complete with the husks (or outer casing).
Key Features:
- Oats provide an excellent cover crop to prevent soil erosion. Note that germination rate has not been verified.
- Oats make excellent fodder when germinated and may also be fermented.
