Orchardgrass Seed
$221.00
A cool-season grass favored for its palatability and rapid growth, ideal for pastures and hay production.
Crown Royale Orchardgrass Seed (Dactylis glomerata) is a premium, late-maturing cool-season grass with superior resistance to leaf, stem, and stripe rust, yielding up to 35% more forage than other grasses. Known for excellent seedling vigor, winter hardiness, and moderate drought tolerance, it thrives on diverse soils, from clay to gravelly loams. Ideal for pastures, hay, green chop, and silage, it pairs well with fescue, timothy, alfalfa, and clovers. Plant at 15-20 lbs/acre in spring or fall, leaving 3.5-5 inches stubble for optimal regrowth.
